A PERSONAL NOTE
FROM THE AUTHOR: My little cabin in the
woods is on beautiful Lake Mary in Emily,
Minnesota. The inspiration for My Little
Cabin came one night while sitting by the
campfire. I heard a family of owls hooting
back and forth in the trees and wondered
what it would be like sitting up there
hooting and looking down at me. It seemed
like a great beginning for the children's
book I had always wanted to write and
illustrate. I want to dedicate this first
book to my marvelous Marv for building us
such a beautiful cabin, and especially for
his patience while I write and draw; to Ed
and Mae, my wonderful parents who started
everything by loving each other; to Nancy
and Mary, my cheerleading sisters; and to my
remarkable children and grandchildren whom I
love with all my heart:
